BeatSkillz has announced the release of Reelight, an effect plugin that emulates tape saturation/compression. It offers many features for getting an authentic tape vibe as well as some of the desirable artifacts associated with tape.
With the advancement of digital technology and the desire of sound engineers to have more “accurate” recordings, the natural “color” and characteristics of older analog gear went away soon.
This “character” and “color” was soon missed by engineers, producers and music enthusiasts, and race to replicate the “vibe” of tape in digital recordings has been a continued quest.
Till now most plugins attempting the “tape” vibe have come close, but never captured the true vibe of tape recording until now.
The Engineers at Beatskillz used our own new and proprietary RTT technology to develop valvesque earlier, to capture the “vibe”, “tone”, “compression” and even the artifacts such as “noise” and tape speed characteristics of a famous tape machine and tape formulation to create RELIGHT.
We didn’t just stop at that, but also implemented more modern tone shaping features such as the BASS CUT switch and and Low end Boost, as well as an AIR boost and a wet/dry control for more control just from one plugin.
Reelight features
- Tape saturation and compression processor.
- “Drive” the signal to TAPE.
- Add real tape noise/ hiss.
- Adjust tape speed 15 / 7.5 ips.
- Low cut – Clears up a muddy low end build up.
- Low boost – Add a “thick” bottom end.
- Air – Boost high end separation and clarity.
- Wet/Dry – Blend between processed and dry signal.
Reelight (VST/AU/AAX) is available for the intro price of $39 USD until July 31st, 2017 (regular $79 USD).
