Blue Cat Audio has released announced a free update for its universal connection plugin that can that can stream audio and MIDI almost anywhere “in the box” and beyond.

Version 1.2 of Blue Cat’s Connector improves performance and simplifies the connection of multiple audio applications through the internet thanks to Universal Plug’n Play (UPnP) support. It now configures the internet router automatically and displays the public IP address the sender should connect to.

Have you ever dreamt to overcome the limitations of your favorite DAW and draw virtual audio and MIDI cables between any places that accept plug-ins? Have you ever been frustrated not to be able to create feedback loops with plug-ins? What about connecting multiple applications together, on different computers?

The wait is over! Blue Cat’s Connector lets you do all of this, and more! It can stream audio and MIDI data in real time, between any locations that accepts plug-ins: one or several applications, or one or several machines connected to a network (even thru the Internet!).

Changes in Connector v1.2

  • New uPnP (universal Plug’n Play) redirect option to automate port forwarding to accept connections from the Internet.
  • The plugin now displays the public IP address for remote Internet communication (uPnP required).
  • Improved integration with MIDI controllers.
  • Faster plugin loading time, especially when in network send mode and the destination cannot be reached.

Available for Windows and Mac (VST/VST3, AU and AAX), Blue Cat’s Connector is on sale for $39 USD until September 22nd, 2023 (regular $49 USD).

The offer is available at distributor Plugin Boutique and from the Blue Cat Audio store.
