Boz Digital Labs has announced a major update to its free low frequency enhancer effect for Windows and Mac. Bark of Dog 3 combines a resonant filter and Pultec-style boost-attenuation EQ in a simple, easy to use plugin.
The original Bark of Dog was one of our first plugins, and it was a huge eye opener for me. It was a testament to the idea that sometimes it’s the simple tools that are the most powerful. When you need to control your low end, Bark of Dog does it quickly and simply. To be perfectly honest, even though I loved it, I didn’t think anyone would care about this plugin. But it didn’t take long to see it being used on top hits and becoming one of the standard free plugins that every mixer should use.
We’ve improved upon it since version 1. We’ve added a second mode, and now with version 3, we’ve added an “Analog” option, which I swear isn’t just a gimmick. I hope you love it as much as I do. – Boz Millar
