Ben Burnes has released a new sample collection that brings the sound of brushed drums in collaboration with Mark Powers. The Brushed Drum Sample Pack includes over 150 individual brushed drum samples, 28 unique loops, and two Ableton Drum Racks.
These samples are completely unprocessed. They were recorded on a Yamaha Birch Custom Absolute snare drum with a Remo Coated Ambassador batter head, using two different types of Vic Firth brushes: the lighter Steve Gadd signature model (with angled tips) and the heavier Live Wires (with a small, round bead on the tip of each strand).
These sounds are public domain (Creative Commons 0). You are free to enhance, reuse, remix, or do whatever with these files. Obviously, linking back to the pack or dropping my name in your liner notes is encouraged, but not required.
