Cinematique Instruments has released a bundle of 3 vintage electric piano instruments for Kontakt. The Vintage Electric Piano Bundle contains Mark I, Cembalet and 200A.

  • Mark I: The sound of the classic stage piano Rhodes Mark I. Compared to its successors like the Mark II, it’s less bell-like and has a more comfortable and warmer tone. Next to the traditional line sound, the instrument also has an articulation played through a Fender Rhodes Suitcase amp recorded with a Neumann microphone. The electric piano focus on the real vintage sound and character. The beauties we recorded are in conditions as they are and that’s exactly what makes it so irresistible. The result is a warm, inspiring cool instrument.
  • Cembalet: The Hohner Cembalet, an early reed based electric piano released around 1958. Next to two versions of the traditional line sound, the library comes with an articulation of the original vibrato effect as well as an articulation recorded by a Neumann U87 microphone, giving you the organic tone of the plucked reeds.
  • 200A: The sound of the classic Wurlitzer electric piano 200A, an early reed based electric piano. Compared to the Rhodes it has a slightly sharper tone and starts barking when played harder. Next to the traditional line and a brighter line sound, the instrument includes two articulations recorded through speakers with a Microtech Gefell microphone, one with a close miking, the other one in the middle of the room.

The piano libraries are available to purchase individually for 35 EUR each, and the bundle is priced 70 EUR. Prices ex. VAT where applicable.
