Credland Audio has released Pink, a free audio effect plugin that aims to make mixing easier by referencing against pink noise.
Credland Audio is the name behind Plugin Boutique’s BigKick drum instrument and the StereoSavage stereo toolbox plugin.
We were doing some referencing of our mixes to pink noise and couldn’t find a super-simple noise generator that we liked for the job.
So here’s a free VST/AU/AAX pink noise generator. It has a handy master gain control so don’t have to reach for the monitor volume control every time you use it.
To use Pink, put it on your master channel and set the noise level to a good reference point. Then set the master level to a level where the pink noise is at a comfortable listening volume. Now solo each channel and adjust the level so you can only just hear it over the pink noise.
Pink is available as a free download for 32 & 64-bit Windows and Mac (VST/AU/AAX).
