EAS Audio has released a free audio plugin that emulates the warping effect that occurs when stopping a reel-to-reel tape machine while playing.
Stopping the “virtual tape” will progressively slow the affected track down to a complete halt, while starting the virtual tape again will accelerate the playback up to normal speed.
Unlike a physical tape machine though, TapeStop ensures that, once restarted, the affected track remains aligned with the rest of the project, as if it had never been stopped.
Start and stop times are adjustable up to 2 seconds and can “snap” to (fractions of) the beat allowing for simple and precise automation control.
TapeStop is available to download in VST3 format for Windows.

It crashes reaper every time.
Works ok for me in FL Studio 21. Make sure to copy the whole TapeStop.vst3 folder to your VST3 plugin folder. If you just copy the .vst3 file it will indeed crash as it’s missing resources.
Thanks. Yep, copied the whole folder with resources and all.
Ok I reinstalled it and got it working in reaper now, thanks
