Flipspark has announced the launch of a creative card game for the studio to help music producers find inspiration.
Flipspark Elements lets you find inspiration by drawing and combining prompt cards to discover unexpected combinations of their own gear and techniques.
The game aims to break producers free from writers block, provide direction through creative constraints, and encourage trying new approaches toward finding your signature sound. Flipspark Elements also a great resource for budding producers looking to learn new methods and tricks, and can also serves as a fun competitive or co-op game with a friend in the studio.
The Flipspark Elements deck consists of 64 abstract prompt cards divided into four suits of Elements, Instruments, Patterns, and Effects. Element cards represent the fundamental parts of a track, instrument cards are the sound source, pattern cards suggest an approach to the melody or beat, and effect cards provide sound engineering ideas for the mix.
The cards have been designed with high-level creative prompts that can freely mix and match into a near infinite number of combinations. There are no rules to using Flipspark Elements, only a few guidelines on the website. It is really up to the music maker how to best use it to find musical inspiration.
On sale for the limited time intro price of $9 USD (regular $13 USD), Flipspark Elements has launched as a digital downloadable version which includes an additional file of blank cards for you to create your own prompts to expand the deck, along with a few handy printable templates.
Flipspark has also made ‘Flipspark Inspire’ free to download, with even more high level abstract ‘what if?’ prompts useful for electronic music makers as well as artists in any field.
