Peter den Herder has released a sample pack featuring a collection of lo-fi bass sounds created with the Yamaha TX81Z, a rackmount multitimbral FM synthesizer from 1987.

Geared towards House and Techno music production, the pack features a total of 234 key-labeled (multi) samples.

I always create my patches from scratch, but this time I also made some variations on the famous “Lately bass” preset.

Funny detail: Lots of samples are derived from TX81Z patches that are useless on the hardware itself. Only one or a few notes sound right, but when sampled, the sound cán have a chromatic life in your sampler. This results in quite unique bass sounds.
