Reflex Acoustics is offering an audio plugin that is designed to help you visualize the dynamics in your signal. The Reflex Dynamic Range Meter shows the real-time loudness distribution of 5-millisecond grains of sound.

The plugin features a frequency spectrum with 8 frequency bands, each with its own analysis display.

Reflex Dynamic Range Meter features

  • Loudness distribution of 5ms grains over the last 3 or 15 seconds, charted relative to mean loudness.
  • Colored bars for Peak (green), 90th percentile (blue), 10th percentile (pink) and Low (red).
  • Scrolling waveform display of last 1 second, at 5-millisecond resolution (click display to freeze waveforms).
  • Mid and Side modes, and a readout of side level relative to mid for each frequency band.
  • LUFS meter showing short-term (i.e. 3-second trailing) perceived loudness.
  • Two filter modes: “Eco.” is lighter on CPU, but introduces visible artifacts in the waveform displays for the eight frequency bands; Linear Phase (“Lin.”) has a very clean band separation, albeit with variable latency across the lower-frequency bands, meaning that transient peaks no longer align across the displays.

The plugin is free to download in VST/VST3 and AU formats for Windows and Mac (AAX coming).
