These drums sound more “close up” due to their crispy presence and short sustain. The snare is snappy and at the same time deep with a real sizzly snare wire character coming through. The kick is weighty, short and punches through the speakers. The shorter depth toms have a clear note but get out of the way even faster and really sing out on the louder hits. The hi-hats and cymbals have plenty of presence and blend perfectly with the rest of the drums. If you were stomped for choice for which kit to start with, the Studio Standard is certainly the main contender.
