Cableguys has posted a tutorial video on using TimeShaper for the popular “half-speed”/”slow-down” effect used in trap/hip-hop tracks.
In one minute, the video shows how TimeShaper can easily be used to slow down virtual instruments as well as audio loops.
Slowing a loop down to half its usual playback rate is a popular trap & hip-hop production technique, and this video demonstrates how easy it is to set up in Cableguys TimeShaper.
With the “Pitch down 1 octave” Wave selected, and Loop Length set to match the loop, you can then throw loops onto your track to audition them at half speed. Because it’s real time, it also works on virtual instruments, as shown in the video.
TimeShaper is available for Windows and Mac (VST/AU), priced at 39 EUR / $44 USD incl. VAT.
