Homegrown Sounds has released Black Magic Lite, a free version of the Black Magic loop workstation VST instrument for Windows PC.
Black Magic Lite is identical and fully functional, though it is still beta it seems good enough to release now. It has reduced features compared to the Big version but is not a demo, it is still fully featured and introduces you to the Black magic World.
Limitations in the Lite version
- Limited to predefined sample set (128 samples) – Full version comes with over 1400 samples and the ability to use your own.
- No Compressor, Mod Sequencer or LFO.
- Master options cannot be changed for things like Record options, filter casce etc…
- No Kits.
- The limitations are listed in the VSTi itself when you click on “Upgrade Info”.
Black Magic Lite is available for download as a freeware VST instrument for Windows, for registered members (registration is free).
The full version is still available at 50% discount for £65 until April 24, 2009.
