In Plugin Boutique’s latest Two Minute Tuesday tutorial video, Joshua Casper shows you how to use MIDI triggering to trigger the VolumeShaper module of Cableguys ShaperBox 2 (or any other shaper module) via incoming MIDI signals.
He does this to make precise volume shaping like a sidechained compressor, but with far more control. The MIDI trigger option in ShaperBox 2 makes things a lot easier when it comes to non-repeating patterns and such.
You will learn how it’s done in under 2 minutes in Ableton Live, but if you stick around for another minute or two you will see how to use the multiband functionality to get even more precise with which frequencies get their volumes shaped.
The ShaperBox 2 bundle (including TimeShaper 2, VolumeShaper 6, FilterShaper Core 2, PanShaper 3 and WidthShaper 2) is available from Plugin Boutique for $99 USD.
