Impact Soundworks has announced a thorough overhaul of its flagship orchestral string sample library, bringing a completely rebuilt engine and new features. Additionally, two new new editions are now available to complement Tokyo Scoring Strings Complete edition.
Tokyo Scoring Strings combines groundbreaking legato and a brilliant workflow with the perfection and agility of Japan’s world-renowned Koichiro Muroya Strings. A well-rounded studio string library that holds its own across all genres, especially — but not limited to — Japanese-inspired music. Tokyo Scoring Strings is powerful yet user-friendly, allowing you to easily realize virtually any score.
Changes in Tokyo Scoring Strings v2.0
- All recordings re-edited from the ground up for a more vibrant, realistic, and consistent sound.
- Two new mic mixes: Anima (a light and airy mix most suited to agile and intricate writing) and Cinema (a dark, smooth mix suitable for cinematic scoring and low string chorales), in addition to the existing Board Mix (an upfront mix by engineer Mitsunori Aizawa).
- Even more versatile and natural-sounding legato powered by the new Spectral Fusion technology, including three additional legato types: Marcato Legato, Lyrical Legato, and Runs Legato.
- Completely rebuilt Lookahead with improved sound and functionality, plus a new lower-latency version that allows for grid synchronization without the full lookahead feature set.
- A new Ensemble patch in which sections are separated across the keyboard to avoid overlap and retain the distinctive small ensemble sound.
- Reworked individual mic signals to build a custom mic mix (only available in the complete edition): Close, Decca, Side, Back.
On sale for the intro price of $199 USD (regular $249 USD), Tokyo Scoring Strings Essentials offers most of the same features and all of the functionality of the complete edition. It is designed to be an affordable workhorse library, including everything most users will need to write professional, score-ready orchestral compositions.
Tokyo Scoring Strings Complete ($349 USD instead of $449 USD) adds more articulations, two portamento types, and individual mic signals for users who want maximum control. Owners of Tokyo Scoring String 1.0 will receive Tokyo Scoring Strings 2.0 as a free update available through the Pulse Downloader.
Tokyo Scoring Strings Free is an introduction to the Tokyo Scoring Strings system, featuring the series’ signature Lookahead technology and Spectral Fusion legato, but limited to two instrument sections, Violins 1 and Cellos, and with more limited articulations and only one mic mix.
The introductory offers expires October 23rd, 2024. Additionally, Impact Soundworks invites customers to use TSS Free to create an original composition for a chance to win TSS Complete or TSS Essentials. You can submit your entry until October 29th, 2024.
