Intermorphic has released version 2.3 of Mixtikl, a generative music system for mobile, tweeting, web & desktop.
Intermorphic Ltd today releases Mixtikl 2.3, the next major update to Mixtikl, featuring a new file format that makes it easier to create and tweet beguiling “mixtikls”, a new look UI and in-app store for a range of add-on content “Tiklpaks”.
The Intermorphic founders built upon the vector audio techniques they pioneered back in 2000 & 2001 (at SSEYO) where they found ways to deliver sounds in one SMS. They have continued this work and the new format lets users include custom customsound FX and mixes that reference content (generative music or audio loops) from any of the range of add-on Tiklpaks. The user’s mix can be exported as a URL for shortening by one of the popular URL shortening services and then included in a tweet. When the tweet link is selected on a iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with Mixtikl installed, Mixtikl will load and the mix play. When the tweet is selected on Windows or Mac PC with Mixtikl installed, the Mixtikl browser plugin will play the mix. Being able to tweet a mix means people can easily create, share and enjoy new mixes.
Mixtikl 2.3.0.31 for iPhone / iPad / iPod touch is already available in the Apple App Store. Mixtikl 2.3.0.36 for Mac & Windows desktop comprises a standalone version, VST and AU plugins for music sequencers, and a plugin for web browsers. The Mixtikl browser plugin allows “mixtikls” to be played in a webpage.
Mixtikl Mobile is available to purchase for $2.99 USD, Mixtikl Desktop for Windows and Mac is $29.99 USD and the Mixtikl Bundle (including soundpacks) is available for $34.99 USD.
