It Might Get Loud Productions has announced the release of Riot Drums, a VST/AU drum sample library that was inspired by classic 90’s Hardcore albums.
The instrument includes over 2,700 unique drum samples.
We dug out some old Shutdown, Earth Crisis, Integrity, All Out War records, rented a recording space and got a kick ass drum kit and sampled the whole thing for you. We love 90’s Hardcore and we wanted to bring you a natural sounding yet punchy kit that delivers roundhouse kicks right to your jaw. This puts pizzamakers and Gorilla Stomps in your songs.
Riot Drums features 1 kick, 1 snare, 3 toms and a whole set of cymbals (hihat, ride, 2x crash, china 2x splash).
Wait… what’s new here? This time around we recorded the whole thing with multiple microphones and we are proud to announce that there will be separate close mic samples, overhead and 2 sets of room samples.. Wait it gets better.
Snare not loud enough in the overheads? You can turn it up. Cymbals too loud in the near room channel? Well you can turn them down. Toms aren’t blasting enough in the far room channel? Let em roar.
With Riot Drums you can create the perfect drum mix on EVERY. SINGLE. CHANNEL.We also improved the humanization and the overall programmability. We added enough variation so that even if you’re programming drums at constant 127 you’ll still get very human sounding drums.
Once again we left the processing to a minimum so you can color the sound any way you choose to. We however had the chance to record this with various analog preamps so you’ll have a very warm natural sound to start things up with.
