Splice has launched a new sample pack on its Splice Sounds imprint. Kilamanzego: Black Weirdo is the first among the Nova series, a program launched in partnership with SoundCloud to amplify the work of the most promising, undiscovered creators around the globe.
Based out of Philly, Kilamanzego (pronounced: “kill a man’s ego”) delivers uniqueness in today’s electronic music scene by using unpredictable arrangements, off-kilter rhythms, and infectious sound design. Inspired by the punk and hip hop scenes she grew up in, she’s known for erasing lines between genres with forward-thinking beats infused with touches of west African experimentalism and electronic dance music.
In her five years as an artist, her music has been praised by Machinedrum, Anna Lunoe, ROMderful, OddKidOut, NNAMDI, and more. Her work has been featured on NPR, Bandcamp, Reverb, UK’s NTS Radio, Andrew Huang’s 4 Producers 1 Sample, with live performances at Mad Decent / Brownies & Lemonade.
The sample pack and all individual samples are available to Splice subscribers. New users can sign up for a 14-day trial to try Splice Sounds for free.
