Mididope has announced the release of a Max for Live device that is a hybrid between a molecular music box, a MIDI looper and an arpeggiator.
Molecular creates unique and vibrant patterns for harmonic instruments as well as for samplers or drums.
What makes Molecular special is its molecular algorithm for generating notes and layering the resulting note loops. Combining this with the functionality of an arpeggiator and the well thought-out control options, Molecular is a creative and flexible tool for electronic musicians that is also fun to use. Its mutative process brings constant movement and surprises with ever new rhythmic deviations from the existing pattern.
Furthermore, Molecular creates appealing polyphonic superimpositions through loop layering, but can also be used for monophonic instruments. In drums mode it opens up another inspiring field beyond the playing of note tones by rhythmically triggering drum racks or samplers.
Molecular for Ableton Live version 9.7 or higher and Max for Live (included in Live Suite) is available at the introductory price of $24 USD/14 EUR until May 31th, 2021 (regular $34 USD/24 EUR).
