MusicDevelopments updates RapidComposer to v5.5, launches 15th Anniversary Sale

MusicDevelopments has announced an update to its phrase-based music composition tool for Windows and Mac. Version 5.5 of RapidComposer introduces a new “Rhythm Track”, precise monophonic audio-to-MIDI conversion, expanded AI service provider support, and numerous workflow enhancements.

To celebrate 15 years of innovation, RapidComposer and all other MusicDevelopments software are available at a 40% discount until April 21st, 2025. All purchases receive a free license to Fyler, the modern file manager for media and metadata.

Changes in RapidComposer v5.5

New track type: “Rhythm Track” – Convert between rhythm and MIDI tracks from the track inspector menu.
New rhythm generator: “Follow Track” – Use another track as a rhythm source.
New variation: “Follow Track Rhythm” – Apply another track’s rhythm to the current track.
Highly accurate monophonic audio-to-MIDI conversion – with continuous pitch-bend and expression events.
Audio-to-MIDI preview – Instantly preview both visually and audibly before converting.
Expanded AI service support – Added OpenRouter, Llama, and LM Studio, enabling locally installed models and free OpenRouter models.
Faster waveform rendering – Optimized for better performance with long audio files.
Pitch bend sensitivity setting – available for SoundFonts and MIDI instruments.
56 SoundFont channels – Expanded support for enhanced playback.
Improved MIDI CC editing – New Min/Max sliders for faster CC adjustments.
Enhanced readability – Bigger font for timecode and bar position display.
Improved MIDI import – Now supports multiple overlapping “note on” events.
New time display option – Samples can be shown as the secondary time format.
Better export handling – Individual track exports now include track indices to prevent duplicate names.
Regenerate shape or rhythm separately for selected phrase generators.
Key filtering for keyboard shortcuts.
New menu item: “Save as default” for New Composition.
New shortcuts: Toggle the Composite Track (Shift+C) and Idea Tool lightning button.
Fixed: “Export as individual WAV/AIFF…” now properly handles solo tracks.
Fixed: Audio tracks are not shown in the Composite Track.
