Mystic Circuits has introduced a complete reworked version of its cross modulation powerhouse module for Eurorack systems.
ANA 2 derives 9 different analog logic operations in tandem from two input signals. Each input channel features a processing section that attenuverts, adds, or multiplies up to 6 inputs before being sent to the cross modulation circuits.
ANA 2 performs a wide variety of functions including mixing, boolean logic, rectifying, cross-fading, voltage sampling, ring modulating, gate converting, bizarre wave shaping and much more.
While you may have seen these functions in individual modules before, ANA 2 combines them all into one place with all of these functions available simultaneously to give you a Swiss army knife utility that is capable of happy accidents.
ANA 2 combines a wealth of functions normally seen in individual modules, shrunk down into one place and available together. ANA 2 is not limited to operating on just gates, unlike a traditional boolean logic processor. Instead, ANA 2 can process and output LFOs, voltage sequences, and even audio – for a full spectrum of audio possibilities.
Whatever signal type you send to ANA 2, that’s the signal type it will spit out. However, when you send a combination of signal types it will yield a myriad of bizarre and wonderful results. For example, if you send ANA 2 an LFO and a gate, the resulting output signals will be a mishmash between an LFO and a gate.
Mystic Circuits have completely reimagined what the ANA could do and have built ANA 2 from the ground up. ANA 2 has all the same functionality as the first version of ANA, but with more features – for example, all of the cross-modulation circuits from V1 are still present and 3 new ones have been added. This is the first of their early modules to return reinvented and you can expect to see more re-releases from Mystic Circuits in the future.
ANA 2 boasts superior performance, more inputs and outputs in the same amount of space as ANA. This new version provides visual feedback showing the status of both its input channels, which is always useful. Both inputs now feature through-zero VCAs allowing the highly requested ability to voltage control the behavior of both attenuverter knobs. Overall, ANA 2 provides an impressive list of both useful, fun, and bizarre functions in one small package. If you’re looking for a utility with a lot of added spice, ANA 2 is an obvious choice.
ANA 2 is available to purchase for $225 USD.
