Nembrini Audio has announced availability of a guitar amp plugin modeled on what is arguably the most famous amp of all time.
The MRH-159 Brown Sound features an option to switch to a modded Marshall Super Lead 1959 100W guitar amp head to achieve rock guitarist extraordinaire Eddie Van Halen’s so-called ‘brown sound’ signature distortion tone that many musicians have tried to emulate.

In the Mrh159 Brown Sound Guitar Amplifier plugin there is the possibility to switch to a modded Marshall Super Lead 1959* for achieve the legendary BROWN SOUND.
The following changes were made to the stock amplifier to achieve the legendary “Brown Sound”:
- Variac Variable Transformer to reduce the main voltage to 90V.
- EL34 tubes changed with 6CA7 Fat Bottle.
- Middle tone stack potentiometer changed to 50K ohm.
- Fat cap 25uF on V2 tube.
Available in VST/VST3, AU and AAX plugin formats for Windows and macOS, MRH-159 Brown Sound has an introductory price of $37 until July 4th, 2021 (regular $137 USD). The AUv3/iOS version is $9.99 USD during the intro promotion (regular $19.99 USD).
