Noise Makers has recently launched a major update to its Binauralizer series of plugins.
Version 2 of Binauralizer contains a revisited HRTF engine with higher spatial resolution and support for elevation. An improved SOFA importer allows to load up to five custom HRTF for personalised rendering.
In addition, Binauralizer Pro 2 includes binaural room impulse responses (BRIR) providing new possibilities for distance simulation and sound externalisation.
Binauralizer 2 features
- Full 360° panning with elevation (new).
- SOFA importer with up to five custom HRTF (new).
- Spatial room effect (new – Binauralizer Pro only).
- Control of distance attenuation (new – Binauralizer Pro only).
- Pad for simultaneous control of width and position.
- 6 input formats: mono, stereo, quad, 5.1, 7.1, 8.0.
- Output format: binaural 3D audio.
- Sampling frequency up to 192 kHz.
Version 2 of Binauralizer Studio comes with 4 new features: spatial room effect, head-tracking, an improved SOFA importer and new input configurations (4.0.4, 9.1.4 and 9.1.6).
The spatial room effect is based on binaural room impulse responses (BRIR) measured in first-class immersive studios: Radio France, RFI Labo, Immersive BB and Poly Son Post Production. The room amount parameter allows gradual control from anechoic HRTF to in situ measurements. Head-tracking is plug and play with commercial and DIY trackers including Feichter T3, Supperware and nvsonic.
Binauralizer Studio 2 features
- 16 input formats: stereo, 5.1, 7.1.4, 9.1.6 (new) … up to 22.2.
- Output format: binaural 3D audio.
- Spatial room effect (new).
- Head-tracking (new).
- SOFA importer with up to 5 custom HRTF (new).
- Sampling frequency up to 192 kHz.
- Solo mode to hear individual input channels.
- Option to low-pass filter LFE channel.
The plugins are available in VST3, AU and AAX formats for Windows and Mac. Binauralizer 2 is priced 89 EUR, while Binauralizer Pro and Studio 2 are 189 EUR each. Upgrade prices are available for previous owners of Binauralizer and Binauralizer Studio plugins.
