Noisebud has recently released a major update to its “Sub-bas Black Box” effect plugin. SubBB v2 is a sub-frequency toolbox that aims to help you control sub-frequencies while mastering.

Designed to streamline the mastering process, SubBB v2 offers features for precise sub-frequency control, ensuring an optimized listening experience across various playback environments.

As SubBB transitions from its origins targeting bedroom producers to a tool favored by professional mix and mastering engineers, the changes in version 2 reflect this shift.

Changes in SubBB v2.01

  • Fixed a bug that caused the Mac build to stop letting audio through and made meters disappear.
  • Added an experimental Dynamic Anti Aliasing filter for the broadband clipper.
  • A new bell-shaped Boost mode (called v2 in the plugin).
  • A new metering section for both pre and post-signal.
  • Numerous minor bug-fixes.

SubBB for Windows and Mac (VST3 and AU) is available to Noisebud’s Patreon members, priced $5 USD/month.
