Observant Sound has announced the release of the follow up to its hugely successful Kontakt library designed for creating captivating soundscapes and rhythmic textures.
A dual-sample player for the full version of Kontakt 6, Veiled Ashes 2 has a focus on modulation and creating soundscapes, using a custom built modulation matrix engine.

The original Veiled Ashes was updated to v1.1. Both Veiled Ashes series libraries now come with an additional 90 modulation presets.
Users can choose whether a modulation preset (called mod-fx in the GUI) should affect the matrix and/or effects, or just the modulators. Every factory mod-fx preset is built as a coherent system and has matching matrix and FX settings. So applying the preset as a whole will keep your sample settings intact but apply audible modulation to your sound. Or if you’ve already built something and you know what you’re going for, then you can selectively apply aspects of mod-fx presets to your sound.
So now, it’s become incredibly easy to mix and match and quickly experiment, and it’s more in line with the original vision of having this instrument work like a modular synth. I’m offering tons of building blocks, and it’s up to the user to try things and come up with interesting results.
The update also includes preset macros for hands-on control, user interface improvements, more side switching and randomization options, and various other improvements and fixes.
