Once a key player in the emerging landscape of software audio effects and instruments, Ohm Force seemed to have died a quiet death a few years ago after introducing the Ohmboyz Infinity delay.
Companies come and go, and while the current plethora of high quality cheap and even free music tools available on the market might make you not care much, I personally felt a bit sad that the Ohmies were no more. When I started running Rekkerd, they were one of the first to support me by donating plugins for contests. They even sent me a couple of shirts back in the day, which I still have and wear.
After a long period of silence, Ohm Force has put up its legacy plugins as a free download. That means you can now get your hands on classics such as the Ohmicide multiband distortion, Symptohm experimental synthesizer, OhmBoyz delay, and more. A total of 8 plugins are available to download, but note that there’s no support for these plugins and they aren’t compatible with Apple Silicon.
The OhmBoyz Infinity delay is not part of the legacy plugins, and it looks like a new Frohmager filter is in the works, so perhaps there will be more news soon.
