Orange Tree Samples has launched an offset electric guitar powered by Native Instruments’ Kontakt Player. The Evolution Indie Rock sample library was recorded using a brand of electric guitars with an iconic offset body shape and a slightly shorter scale length. Known for its punchy, bright tone, the guitar is a favorite among alternative and indie rock guitarists.
The guitar’s single-coil bridge and neck pickups were recorded as separate signals so that their blend can be adjusted within the sample library for even more tonal control.
The library was developed in collaboration with Rosewood Recording Company, one of Utah’s most venerable recording studios. Guy Randle, the owner and recording engineer at Rosewood Recording Company, incorporated analog gear to skillfully sculpt and emphasize the rich tonal qualities of the guitar. Evolution Indie Rock includes both the as-recorded signal, recorded directly from the guitar’s output jack, as well as an enhanced signal that can be blended to your taste.
The guitar samples were performed by Robbie Connolly, an accomplished guitarist and keyboardist who performs on some of the world’s largest stages with the Killers. He also tours as the co-frontman and lead guitarist for Fictionist, opening for acts like Imagine Dragons and Vampire Weekend.
