SampleScience has announced the release of a virtual instrument with a set of 15 drones that have been crafted by modulating synthesizer chords with field recordings: Organic Alien Drones Light.
These drones were created using two distinct techniques: the first method involves the use of a vocoder, while the second employs convolution. The outcome is both peculiar and musical, making it valuable for crafting soundscapes from another world.3
Note: Due to their experimental nature, some of the drones begin at a lower volume than others. All the drones are 30 seconds or more samples stretched across the keyboard.
The plugin is available as a “pay what you like” download for Windows and macOS (VST/VST3 and AU), including free.
