Pettinhouse has released version 2.0 of DirectBass FREE, a free bass instrument for Kontakt.
DirectBass FREE features one of the four patches included in the full version of DirectBass 2.0 for Kontakt 2 or 3 as a free download.
It is a reduced version of the Mid+Neck Patch – 16-bit/44Khz with one articulation (Hammer-ons). It has the same features of the full version, except it is free.

Is that really a problem.
1) recording levels are too low
2) many many samples are played with fretnoise
3) sound lacks oomph, very digital sounding
4) sound volume levels not consistent between notes, some a bit too loud, some a bit too soft
5) demos seem not to be played with these samples
Very interesting. But I’m wondering why not just get a bass and workout some arpeggios.
