Punk Labs has introduced a new OneTrick series virtual instrument inspired by the Casio Rapman sound toys.

OneTrick B-Boi delivers classic ’90s hip-hop percussion sounds and vocal chops arranged as a drum kit with effects and filters.

We packaged up our favorite samples from across the RAP-line, including the elusive RAP-10, and gave it all our own unique twist for you to bring back the fun. We even managed to get the “Voice Effector” in there for maximum laughs.

While OneTrick B-Boi is inspired by sound toys, Punk Labs says it offers quality and attention to detail with 18 sounds from the RAP-1, RAP-10, and RAP-2 (also known as the DJ-1) as eight controllable voices in a drum kit. Multi-out and chromatic MIDI channels bring flexibility, along with pitch and mod wheel support.

OneTrick B-Boi features

  • 18 sounds from the RAP-1, RAP-10, and RAP-2 (DJ-1).
  • 8 voices with lowpass, pan, tuning, and delay.
  • Global saturation, bitcrusher, and filters.
  • Lofi mic pitch shifter.
  • Multi-out or stereo.
  • Chromatic MIDI channels.
  • Pitch and Mod Wheel support.
  • Nondestructive modulation (CLAP only).
  • All parameters are automatable.

Priced $35 USD, OneTrick B-Boi is available in for Windows, macOS and Linux in VST, AU and CLAP plugin formats. The source code is available under the GPLv3.
