Resonance Sound has introduced a new soundset for u-he’s Repro-1 and Repro-5 software synthesizer instruments.
Taking advantage of Repro’s deep analog modeling and the rich effect selection to deliver both raw analog sounds as well as spacious, production-polished sounds and sequences, Synergy Repro by Aiyn Zahev Sounds features a collection of 370 patches.
The soundset is geared towards Retro, EDM and synth heavy cinematic/game scores.
The Repro-1 presets focus more on sequences, basses and makes use of the wave folder. There are a number of bass sequences, and even sub bass sequences. These are typically dark or gritty with a nod to techno. Ideal for creating tension. The melodic sequences tend to be moody and cerebral. All the sequence sounds are also broken out into individual non-sequenced presets too, with modifications to make them suitable as sounds of their own.
The Repro-5 presets cover pads, huge unison basses, plucks, atmospheres and single note pads. The bank has an over-all feeling of being modern, yet vintage inspired. It’s warm and organic at times and punchy and clear at others.
Distortion is used to create a more aggressive, alive analog tone, or to introduce a subtle warmth. The velvet effect is used extensively to add tape compression, making patches punch more and cut through a mix. The effects settings were set carefully for each preset, either to provide subtle enhancement, or to transform the core sound completely, or off when the sound suits being completely dry.
Priced 45.95 EUR, the soundset also included MIDI files and a project for Ableton Live 11.
