Rhodes Music has partnered with internationally acclaimed Leeds-based artist Nicolas Dixon to create a truly one-of-a-kind masterpiece: A hand-painted MK8 piano.
The Rhodes MK8 x Nicolas Dixon limited edition is a true fusion of art and sound, featuring his signature abstract style and vibrant use of colour. Hand-painted by Dixon, this unique MK8’s hood, pedal cover, and legs showcase his distinctive biomorphic shapes and bold, expressive design, culminating in a truly one-of-a-kind work of art.
This exclusive edition elevates the aesthetic of the iconic Rhodes piano and supports a meaningful cause. Created in collaboration with the charity Last Night a DJ Saved My Life, this custom MK8 will be auctioned to raise funds for their vital work. Merging artistic expression with musical innovation, the Rhodes MK8 x Nicolas Dixon piano features the MK8 FX section as standard, offering unparalleled sound control and rich tonal textures.
The instrument is up for auction through a silent bidding process until October 27th, 2024. Part of the proceeds will benefit the charity Last Night a DJ Saved My Life.
In addition to the hand-painted piano, Dixon has designed two exclusive MK8 hood wrap designs. Only 20 limited-edition pianos featuring each design will be made available, with £500 GBP from each sale donated to the LNADJ charity.
Through these initiatives, Rhodes aims to raise £20,000 GBP, which will fund the construction of at least 5 wells, providing access to clean water for up to 2,500 people.
