Roland has announced an update to the its Legendary Series software synthesizer that brings the sounds of the JX-3P polyphonic synth.

Version 2 of the JX-3P comes with a refined, high-resolution interface, universal patch browsing, Circuit Mod, and all-new sounds.

The JX-3P Software Synthesizer is an authentic virtual recreation of the six-voice JX-3P from 1983. This landmark analog instrument ushered in an era of sleek looks, easy preset recall, and stable tuning via digitally controlled oscillators. The streamlined panel provided fast access to preset sounds, with the ability to dive into deeper sound design via the optional PG-200 programmer. Indistinguishable from the sound of the original, the JX-3P Software Synthesizer brings this underground ’80s classic to your modern workflow.

The JX-3P v2 goes beyond other v2 updates in that it also includes an improved ACB (Analog Circuit Behavior) model making it even more accurate to the sound of the original analog hardware, and a completely overhauled user interface with a faithful reproduction of the sought-after PG-200 Programmer.

The JX-3P for Windows and Mac (VST3, AU and AAX) is included with selected Roland Cloud memberships. It is available also to purchase individually for $199 USD. The update is free to existing users.
