SampleSumo has released an update to the SaltyGrain granular audio effect plugin for Windows and Mac.
The plugin can create a large variety of different sound types, and is ideal for creating strange or spooky effects in movie productions, vocal effects, weird background sounds, lush pad sounds, rhythmic distortions, live sound modifications, etc.
Version 1.2. introduces a new per-grain filtering feature with new parameters: filter type, min/max filter cutoff frequency and min/max Q factor (resonance). This is very useful for adding an “organic” feel to the sound. Four new presets using this new feature were added as well.
Also new in this version is native support for Apple Silicon. The Mac versions are now Universal 2 binaries, which means that they can run natively both on Intel-based Macs and on newer Apple silicon-based Macs. Additionally, the update includes various bug fixes and a few small improvements.
Available for Windows and Mac in VST, AU and AAX plugin formats, SaltyGrain is priced 69 EUR (incl. VAT). The update is free for license owners.
