SampleScience has announced the release of a software rendition of Texas Instruments’ Vocaid, a vocal assistance device created for individuals with speech impairments. The Virtual Vocaid plugin accurately reproduces the distinct synthetic speech of the iconic astrophysicist Stephen Hawking.
The software can produce all feasible combinations of words, letters, and numbers generatable by the original device. Sound manipulation is facilitated through integrated ADSR amplitude envelopes and four DSP effects. Additionally, the software incorporates a multi-LFO feature, enabling modulation of pitch, pan, or amplitude.
The sound library is categorized into sections such as alphabet, bedside, games, numbers, and telephone, ensuring comprehensive usability.
Virtual Vocaid is available as a “pay what you like” download (including free) in VST/VST3 and AU plugin formats for Windows and Mac.
