Sampleson has announced the release of a plugin that allows users to transform any audio into hours of cinematic atmospheres.

Scaper captures the essence of any audio file, crafting it into a dynamic and immersive experience. And when they say any audio, they mean ANY AUDIO: from a Bach fugue to a dog bark.

The plugin operates by importing the desired audio and automatically, through a process of randomizing and stretching harmonic elements, captures the essence of the original audio to transform it into a cinematic atmosphere. It’s equipped with three advanced stretching engines and an automated particle generator. Additionally, parameters can be automated in any DAW to allow for evolving soundscapes to match scene variations.

Scaper is a great time-saver as it allows users to create hours of cinematic sounds with minimal effort. It’s ideal for cinematic atmospheres and gaming soundscapes, as it’s capable of generating hours of dynamic soundscapes based on the audio file you drop onto it, and each composition will sound slightly different over time thanks to its generative algorithm, which prevents repetition.

“I’ve always found great pleasure in those videos labeled ‘One hour of ambient’ or ‘One hour of synth soundscapes,’ and I’ve attempted to create them myself, with varying success as they require hours of work and numerous synthesizers and effects’ admits Augusto Filocamo, the developer behind Scaper at Sampleson.

‘I always believed there had to be a smarter and simpler way to produce these types of soundscapes, and thus, Scaper was born. This plugin, under the hood, performs a myriad of audio tasks such as time stretching, granular synthesis, fragment synthesis, and randomization. These processes culminate in creating environments and textures that mimic the work of hours or days of programming in a DAW.”

Scaper for Windows and Mac (VST3/AU and standalone) is on sale for the intro price of $29 USD for a limited time (regular $49 USD).
