Schwave Digital has announced an update to its versatile clipper effect plugin crafted by Grammy nominated & Platinum certified engineer Ryan Schwabe to emulate two of his favorite hardware mastering devices.
Version 1.3 of Gold Clip comes with an update to the Alchemy high-frequency dynamic processor intended to soften the harshness that clipping can cause.
The idea remains the same, but Alchemy 2 now has a smooth, polished tape-like sound quality. I introduced a smoothing factor, reduced unwanted artifacts, modified the dynamic response, and tweaked the softness of the onset of the effect. I also raised the maximum amount of Alchemy from 1 to 2 dB. I know what some of you are thinking it, but don’t worry, Alchemy 2 will recall perfectly in all of your old sessions made with Alchemy 1. We made sure of it.
Other changes in version 1.3 includes a new ceiling needle with a bigger numeric display, which is easier to set and read. Additionally, it matches a new Gold Clip companion plugin that Schwabe Digital will be releasing for free for all Gold Clip owners and Rent-To-Owners.
Trim Link Offset allows you to change the gain relationship between the linked input and output, and you can now also star a presets to make it your default preset when opening Gold Clip.
The update to Gold Clip (VST3, AU and AAX) is free for existing users. New customers can purchase the plugin for $249 USD, or with rent-to-own for $25 USD/month.
