Sennheiser has announced that it will host a special Master Class at its New York City Pop Up Store in SoHo on Wednesday, January 11th between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
The master class, entitled ‘Telling your Story with Sound’ will feature Jim Anderson, internationally recognized recording engineer and producer of acoustic music for the recording, radio, television, and film industries. Inviting the audience on an international aural journey of sounds from the ‘hollars’ of Kentucky to the streets of Grenada, he will ‘demonstrate the power of sound to illustrate and enrich a podcast.’
Jim Anderson is the recipient of numerous awards and nominations in the recording industry, including ten Grammy® and Latin Grammy® awarded recordings, 27 Grammy® and Latin Grammy® nominated recordings, as well as two George Foster Peabody Awards for radio programs and two Emmy nominations for television programs.
An expert in sound and vigorous supporter of The Audio Engineering Society (AES), he was the AES’ Eastern U.S and Canadian Vice President, has chaired many AES Conventions, served as President of AES from 2008 – 2009 and was made a Fellow of AES for his service to society, education and excellence in sound recording.
Anderson is a professor of recorded music at the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music in the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University and was the department’s Chair from 2004-2008.
