Serato has officially released an update to its high quality audio time-stretching and pitch-shifting technology. Version 3.1 of Pitch ‘n Time Pro and Pitch ‘n Time LE allows for Apple Silicon integration, as well as MacOS Sonoma support; the last supported MacOS was Catalina in 2020.

Pitch ‘n Time Pro is an AudioSuite software plugin for the Pro Tools platform and works with all versions of Pro Tools. Pitch ‘n Time LE is available for Logic Pro X as an algorithm within Logic’s Time & Pitch Machine. It can also be utilized in Pro Tools as a plugin.

Launched in 1999, Pitch ‘n Time revolutionized the way producers work with audio in the studio environment and is still touted as the gold-standard in the industry, as it’s used in the top cinema sound and music production studios around the world. Film industry luminaries such as David Lynch, Peter Jackson, and the team at Lucas Films are notable users of Pitch ‘n Time, as well as esteemed record producer Malay (Frank Ocean, Lorde, FLETCHER) and rapper 24HRS, who creates his iconic, recognizable vocal sound using the plugin.

Pitch ‘n Time offers time compression and expansion from a ratio of 1/8 speed through to 8x speed independent of pitch, and pitch shifting of up to 36 semitones independent of tempo. The time-stretching and pitch-shifting functions can range from simple fixed ratios to complex tempo and pitch alterations that vary over time (e.g. to match audio timing perfectly with dynamic video, or create dramatic audio effects using pitch). This same core algorithm is the key ingredient behind the popular pitch and time manipulation capabilities in Serato’s DJing and Music Production product lines.

Pitch ‘n Time Pro 3.1 and Pitch ‘n Time LE 3.1 are now available, priced $799 USD and $399 USD respectively.
