Sonixinema has announced an update to its Kontakt Player-powered instrument library Intimate Legato – Cello, a solo cello sample library featuring a beautifully captured, natural sounding legato performed by virtuoso cellist, Nicholas Trygstad.
Version 1.1 of the library comes with improved tuning and intonation, dynamic smoothing, improved playability and sustain pedal functionality.
Recording the Intimate Legato: Cello library was something that we’ve been planning for some time, in order to explore a new method of capturing legato instruments. Whilst this method only involved some minor tweaks to how we did it in previous libraries, we think the end result features a massive improvement in both playability and the overall realism of the library – something which is a hard balance to strike when sampling an instrument with a complex sound like the cello.
After months of testing and getting feedback from our team and fellow composers, we think this library has evolved into something truly special. Whilst most string libraries require a lot of tweaking using the mod wheel, expression and other parameters to make it sound natural, this library sounds fantastic out of the box – you can simply start playing and create incredibly natural, emotional and intimate melodic lines and phrases.
The update is free to existing owners, while new users can purchase the library at a 20% discount for a limited time. Intimate Legato – Cello is priced £55 GBP instead of £69 GBP until May 11th, 2023.
