Sonora Cinematic has announced the availability of two new Kontakt Player-powered instruments. Released in association with SwishSwoosh, and conveniently timed for Halloween, the offering includes a free product, available to download now.

Amber is a versatile tool which empowers sound designers of all abilities to effortlessly craft dark and immersive soundscapes. With its Color Layers, XY Pad, and One-Shot section, AMBER is a frightfully mesmerizing creative laboratory for conjuring evocative drones, deep textures, and impactful risers and tensions.

Users can utilize the XY pad to fine-tune the intensity and blend between sound sources for an immersive and terrifying experience. Meanwhile, impactful hits, rising tensions and suspense-building sounds with metals and strings are all possible within the One-Shot section.

From the subtle nuances of the chorus to the edgy twists of the bitcrusher, Amber’s FX section offers even more tools for customization, with a variety of modulation parameters like distortion, phaser, chorus, bit-crusher, and more. Easily customize and filter sounds to get the perfect tone with the EQ section and with Amber’s reverb section – ‘Scenes’ – you can use one of the custom impulse responses to place your sound design in a range of creative virtual spaces, from small reflective rooms to massive halls.

A more compact version of its illustrious counterpart, Little Amber retains the XY Pad and One-Shot section, offering plenty of tools for crafting ominous and haunting sounds.

Of the release, SwishSwoosh co-founder Feridun Emre Dursun says:

“This Halloween, we’re excited to collaborate with Sonora Cinematic to introduce AMBER and the free LITTLE AMBER to those sound designers who need a quick and easy solution for creating dark soundscapes and spine-tingling horror sounds. We can’t wait to hear what you create with it!”

Amber and Little Amber both work with the free Kontakt 7 Player by Native Instruments. Little Amber is free to download now, while the full version of Amber on sale for an introductory price of £48 GBP until December 6th, 2023 (regular £72 GBP).
