Splice has announced the launch of its new Splice Originals series of sample packs.
The new in-house sample label launches with a collection of five new packs in collaboration with artists who have made unique contributions to music and sound.
With our expansion from sample curation to sample creation, we hope to identify and dive into the vast niches, genres, and sonic worlds currently unexplored in our library.
The following Splice Originals packs are now available.
Electric Zither with Laraaji, a comprehensive collection of zithers, vibraphones, kalimbas, and more by legendary zither/autoharp player and creative visionary Laraaji.
Machinedrum experiments with the groundbreaking and club-shaking “physical” drum machine called the Perc Pro and common items from a Home Depot. The result is Home Hardware, an eclectic collection of loops and one-shots that make things like tubing, guttering, roof jacks, metal studs, metal sheets, greek tiles, wood planks and fence posts into a collection of miscellaneous percussion and oil-stained kicks.
World-renowned percussionist and composer Susie Ibarra collects percussive audio postcards from the Southern Philippines for this eclectic collection. Avant-Garde Percussion features one-shots and loops from kicks, kulintangs, gongs, cymbals, snares, toms, and tons more instruments and objects that go clang and clunk and tick and click.
Three Wave Analog Rhythm Boxes explores the dusty hardware drum machines and nearly forgotten rhythm bots from the stores of Three Wave Music, the legendary New Jersey electronics store. What results is a versatile collection of sepia-toned percussive loops and one-shots, from crunchy kicks to snappy sticks. Dive into samples that capture the sepia-toned sonic footprints of the Acetone FR3, Gibson Maestro MK2, and Korg KR33!
With Baum Breaks, chops-focused drummer Mike Birnbaum pulls from the history of the five-piece heartbeat: classic drum breaks. What results is a library of loops, one-shots, breaks, and fills that Baum has given the crisp patina of the past.
The Splice Originals series packs are now available to Splice subscribers.
