Steinberg has announced the release of a major update to its music production software.
Cubase 13 comes with user interface refinements, new features, and workflow enhancements aimed at simplifying and inspiring music composition, production, and mixing.
Streamlined Mixing Experience
Cubase 13 introduces a redesigned MixConsole that promises to improve focus during the mixing process. The Project window now includes a channel tab, providing direct access to essential mixing parameters for each channel without leaving the arrangement.
This new design allows users to adjust their mix in a per-channel view, hopefully enhancing the production process.
Vocal Production
The VocalChain plugin streamlines vocal mixing by combining all vocal processing steps into one tool. Cubase Pro and Cubase Artist also feature the VoxComp, a dedicated vocal compressor that gently refines recordings without sacrificing clarity, transients, or expression.
Enhanced MIDI Composition
Several new features are included in the MIDI editors to streamline composition workflows. The Range Selection tool is now available in MIDI editors, and Cubase Pro users can view and edit multiple parts directly within these editors.
Step and MIDI input functions have been improved, making MIDI CC recording simpler for further editing.
Revamped Chord Pads
Chord Pads have been completely redesigned and come with new functionalities. The integrated Chord Assistant and the circle of fifths help users discover creative chord progressions with preset starting points.

A Compact Orchestral Library Iconica Sketch offers 140 articulations for 34 instruments in a compact 5 GB library. This scoring utility allows both beginners and professional composers to create high-quality orchestral scores effortlessly.
Plugin Additions
Steinberg has introduced their new Vocoder plugin with Cubase 13, offering users the ability to create classic robotic vocals or add analog character to instruments with up to 24 filter bands, sidechain input, and precise control.
The update also includes two new equalizers, EQ-P1A and EQ-M5, and Black Valve, a classic tube compressor with warmth, character, and sonic detail.
