Studio Brootle has announced the release of a new sample pack featuring the sounds of the Casio RZ-1, a vintage drum machine featuring 12 PCM-sampled drum sounds.
The 1980’s machine is known for its use in Chicago House and for its really crunchy drum sounds, based on digital samples that are recorded at a low bit rate to the machine.
I’ve driven them on the mixer to warm them up and I’ve beefed up the kick drums and low toms. Also I’ve added reverb rumble sub basses made from the kicks and toms so they have modern tough sub basses in key with the drums. This sample pack contains 30 samples – two full drum kits of 15 samples, both processed differently- one pitched down for extra crunch.
The sample pack is available to Studio Brootle’s Patreon members, alongside 10+ other sample packs.
