Caelum Audio has returned with another free plugin in celebration of International Joke Day. Following last year’s Dustbin plugin, this year sees the release of SUBscription, a synth that uses a “unique and exceptionally high IQ text synthesis technique” to create powerful, characterful bass sounds.
While based on a tongue-in-cheek pun about the current state and direction of the music tech industry, we actually ended up with a surprisingly excellent plugin that takes user-generated phrases (subscription codes) and converts them into unique waveshapes in a monophonic sub-synth.
Available for Windows and Mac (VST3, AU and AAX), the plugin is free to download until July 21st, 2023 (regular $12.99 USD). The iOS version is available in the App Store in AUv3 and standalone formats.
