Monster Sounds has introduced a special edition collection that captures the essence of true funk, soul, and authentic musicianship. The Baker Brothers – Funk Reunion featuring bass guitar loops, brass loops (including sax and trumpet), live drum loops, and electric guitar loops.
The Baker Brothers have been delivering funk since 2000, supporting legends such as Sly and The Family Stone, Jools Holland, and John Scofield. Their infectious grooves, raw beats, and fat bass lines lay the foundation for their distinctive sound, which is driven by edgy, melodic horns and funky guitars. This has earned them recognition from icons like Mr. Scruff, Keb Darge, The Roots, and Craig Charles, alongside collaborations with legends such as Average White Band’s Hamish Stewart and UK percussion master, Snowboy.
Recorded in Jonny’s Time Capsule studio, this collection captures the authentic vibe of an analogue sound by using an incredible array of lovingly restored boutique period equipment. Expect that unmistakable richness only achieved by gear such as the BBC AM9/5 Germanium preamps and the incredibly rare Coutant STC-4033 microphone, which is a true vintage broadcasting gem from the 50s. The live reverb chamber adds another dimension, with each loop offered in both dry and wet formats for ultimate flexibility.
