Sound design boutique company The Very Loud Indeed Co. has launched a collection of 120 new cinematic patches for Spectrasonics’ Omnisphere 2.8 synthesizer.
Omnisphere Gunk includes 138 new sound sources which have been recorded and designed specifically for this soundset. It only uses these new sound sources and does not recycle the stock ones in Omnisphere or any other previous set from the company.
According to founder and sound designer Richie Nieto, Gunk “is a dirty, sticky, grimysounding soundset with a lot of character. The main influences for this collection are the works of visionary composers like Trent Reznor and Hildur Guðnadóttir. As you can already imagine, it lends itself very well to scoring styles like dark drama, thrillers and horror, but it can also add some fun quirkiness to lighter styles.”
Omnisphere Gunk is compatible with Spectrasonics’ Omnisphere 2.8 or later. The soundset is available to purchase at the introductory price of $19 USD until September 26th, 2024 (regular $29 USD).
