Tracktion has announced the release of an update to Rob Rayle’s pure modeling synthesizer designed to generate all the expression and nuance of acoustic and electro-acoustic instruments.
Version 1.2.3 of Outersect Modeler comes with full MPE support.
When in MPE MIDI mode, you can set the per-note bend range to match your controller on the setup page. For MPE controllers that have a master pitch bender in addition to per-note bend, the master pitch bend range is set by the pitch bend range on the main page. This can change from patch to patch.
The MPE mode changes the modulation output section of the modeler, since MPE supports different modulation sources. Modulations are mapped from standard MIDI to MPE so that most patches will work well in both modes.
Note, Velocity, Gate, Key, and Random sources are the same in both modes. In MPE mode Timbre/Y replaces Classic Modulation, and will have all the same routings in all patches. Similarly MPE Pressure/Z replaces Classic Pressure and gets the same routings.
MPE Modulation refers to the global modulation control. Release Vel. is MPE release velocity. These outputs are unique to MPE mode. Pitch Bend and Aftertouch are unique to classic mode.
Owners of Outersect Modeler can download the latest version from the Tracktion website. Regularly priced $129 USD, the synth is currently on sale for only $64.50 USD at Plugin Boutique as part of a Manufacturer Focus promotion (expires June 16th, 2024).
