Andrew Aversa of Impact Soundworks has returned with another tutorial video, this time demonstrating how you can produce a classic metal song with some of its Shreddage 3 virtual guitar instruments.
In the first part of the series, Andrew offers an overview and takes a look at mixing the different parts of the song.
I’ve been creating tutorials for Shreddage-series instruments for years, but one thing we get a TON of requests for is a more comprehensive breakdown of producing an entire track. Not just a solo or a rhythm part, but the whole thing, with vocals too. So… that’s exactly what I did! This new 20-minute tutorial video is an overview of a song I wrote using all virtual instruments and featuring some killer vocals by Blake Inc.
The track features Shreddage 3 Jupiter for rhythm guitar, Shreddage 3 Abyss for bass, Shreddage 3 Rogue for lead guitar, and Tokyo Scoring Drum Kits for drums. Now if you love Metallica-style classic metal, I think you’ll really like this. However, the techniques in this video can be applied to other styles of music, so even if you don’t write metal, I think it will still be helpful!
In upcoming videos, Andrew will be diving into the MIDI work and Shreddage settings in even more detail, so stay tuned for that.
