VoosteQ has announced a new audio plugin that models British-made preamps, compressors, equalizers, and transmitters. The Model N Channel models multiple actual units, including vintage units, recent units, and modified units.
Model N Channel is not just modeling the sound of the original preamp, comp, and EQ alone. It features modeling of the sound qualities and tones routed in large recording studios, including sounds through British consoles, cables, bantam patch bays, and even AD/DA, which can add a strong analog texture.
The Model N Channel does not reproduce the sound quality, timbre, or texture of the original instrument as it was when it was run through the actual instrument. Rather than reproducing the sound quality, tone, and texture of the original device as is, VoosteQ has focused on sound quality and operability that are easy to handle when used as a plug-in for a DAW.
Rather than aiming for the same sound as the original device, multiple inserts of the device’s features were made as plug-ins, and the sound quality was adjusted with priority given to elements that would make the user want to use the device.
Available for Windows and Mac (VST/VST3, AU and AAX) is on sale for the introduction price of $19.90 USD until December 10th, 2023 (regular $100 USD). You can try the plugin with a 14-day unlimited trial version.
